John Hannes Bio

An executive with global experience leading strategy, sales, marketing, and product management in the high tech industry, John Hannes is customer focused, strategic, and is a champion for innovation in all aspects of business. His passion is in the commercialization of instrument and measurement technologies distributed worldwide. He brings a global perspective having led product development, new product introductions and marketing teams in Japan, China, Malaysia, Europe and the US.  It is from that background of corporate success that John now leads Essential Business Nature where he  applies his diverse technical, business and leadership experience toward the goals of client organizations.  John has a true aptitude for identifying business opportunities and helping organizations establish their vision and strategy leading to new products and processes and improved business performance.

John has served in executive roles in General Management and Marketing and Sales in oscilloscopes, modular instruments, high energy physics products and protocol solutions.  He has led the product specification, industrial design, market testing and new product introduction and channel development for over 100 products. He has the distinction of leading the team that created the largest brand footprint, fastest sales ramp up, highest customer satisfaction and increased market share for the firm.

Beginning his career at Philips Laboratories, John’s technical career focused on the theory and measurement of the physical and electrical properties of solid state materials used in military and medical devices.  He transitioned from the R&D lab to commercial business by presenting seminars and marketing digitizing products used to measure electronic signals. He was then recruited to develop west coast sales in Silicon Valley and was the top sales achiever for multiple years.

Completing graduate studies Electrical Engineering and in Business Management – Organization Development John advocates and facilitates team learning and uses it to actively jump start new programs and to engage groups in embracing change to support the objectives. He also leads workshops on improving Project Performance, delivers keynote talks, and authors “Innovative Nature”.
